Singapore's only Hainanese mooncake bakery

A century old recipe. The origin

A 5th generation pastry

A Heritage Worth Preserving

Long before mooncakes filled gleaming display counters, there was a humble Hainanese pastry (Hainanese flaky biscuit), lovingly handcrafted in a family run confectionary along Purvis Street@南同利. It was never about extravagance. It was about tradition, craftsmanship, and sharing a piece of home.

Today, Chuan Jii Hainanese flaky biscuit aka Hainanese mooncakes continue that legacy.

Every pastry is shaped by hand, its delicate flaky layers patiently folded one at a time. The fragrant filling (13 ingredients) - a treasured blend of white pepper, sesame seeds, melon seeds, orange peels, preserved lime, and time-honored ingredients—follows recipes that have journeyed through generations.

There are no shortcuts.

Because heritage cannot be rushed.

Each mooncake is a quiet tribute to the artisans who came before us—masters who believed that the finest pastries were earned through patience, not speed. Their hands taught us that every fold matters, every ingredient has a purpose, and every mooncake carries the pride of a community.

In an age where everything moves faster, we remain faithful to a slower rhythm.

Rush is our enemy.

Patience is our craft.

It is in the careful kneading of the dough, the countless folds that create its delicate layers, and the meticulous attention to every detail that gives our Hainanese mooncakes their unmistakable character.

When you savor one, you are not simply enjoying a pastry.

You are tasting the story of Singapore's Hainanese heritage—of families, traditions, and artisans whose passion has endured through the generations.

This Mid-Autumn Festival, honor the past and celebrate the present with a mooncake crafted as it has always been.

By hand. By heart. Without compromise.

Our Heritage. Your Tradition.

Handcrafted Hainanese Mooncakes.
